Quiñanola asks public's help on Chiong case

TASK Force Chiong Sr. Supt. Fritz Quiñanola yesterday repeated his call to the public to help solve the Chiong case.

He assured that police will protect and reward witnesses.

The police have not found yet those responsible for the brutal killing of Marijoy Chiong, 21, and the disappearance of her sister, Jacqueline, 23. The Chiong sisters were reported missing last July 16.

Quiñanola, in a two-page letter sent to SUN.STAR DAILY, urged the public to help the police find mmmm

the sister's perpetuators.

An indignation rally to be initiated by the multi-sectoral group "Katilingban Nagmata sa Sugbu (Kana! Sugbu) will be held on Aug. 14 here focusing on the Chiong case and the drug menace in Cebu.

Those with information on the Chiong sisters can call 254-1136, 231-5844, and 254-5827. GC

Comments:  Although the police claimed to have 10 suspects in mind for the abduction of the sisters, as reported earlier by the vice-mayor, here the Task Force Chiong head Quiñanola admittedly have not found yet those responsible. In fact he is appealing here from the public with promises of rewards to anyone could help them solve the crime.

Another indignation rally. The continuous indignation rallies did not help any except to fan more the public's cry for blood. This prompted the policemen to do more shortcuts to try to solve the crime.
